Driving Range Divot Patterns and Turf Health

We have a wonderful practice facility at Angeles National and as one of the only grass ranges in the greater Los Angeles area, the turf at the practice facility can take a beating.   Did you know there are ways to work on your game and still help to ensure the grass practice area grows back in a rapid and efficient manner?

This is as simple as practicing your iron game while taking linear divots, rather than scattered divots. Linear divots actually remove less turf and cover a smaller surface area versus a scattered divot patter.   The link below is great article from the USGA on best practices for maintaining driving range turf.
