Titleist Fit Day
Masters Week April 2-8 2012
The PGA tour’s first major is closing in, and at Angeles National, we are readying ourselves for Masters week, April 2 - April 8.
Our goal is to have the greens at Angels National in "Masters like conditions" . We will not be able to produce the deep lush green look and bright blooming Azaleas, but we are looking to speed up the greens, as fast as we can get them for that week.
In doing so, our objective is to get the greens rolling at 12’ – 0” or above.
The first step in this process is to alternate our mowing and rolling of the greens. One day we will mow and one day we will roll the greens. As we get closer to April, we will start to double cut and roll the greens to not only help speed them up but also keep them nice and smooth.
Your assistance is important in helping us achieve perfect greens and more enjoyable playing conditions on the course. This time of the year greens and fairways are not growing as quickly as other times of the year. Please repair your ball marks and fill fairway divots, turf recovery from normal wear takes longer during the winter months.
Thank you for visiting. We plan to continue to update the green speeds, conditions and process as we approach "Masters Week".
